New Delhi, Feb 16 (NationPress) A handloom fashion showcase named ‘Breathing Threads’ took place on the sidelines of Bharat Tex 2025, highlighting the timeless beauty of Indian handlooms with a modern twist. This event drew the attention of buyers from various countries including the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Russia, Kuwait, Chile, and Sri Lanka, as announced by the Ministry of Textiles on Sunday.

Hosted at the amphitheatre of Bharat Mandapam, this event was a part of the Bharat Tex 2025 exhibition, running from February 14-16.

The showcase featured fabrics intricately woven in villages across five states: West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, and Rajasthan. Twenty models presented a total of thirty looks, draped using seven distinct weaving techniques: Chanderi, Maheshwari, Jamdani, Khun, Benarasi, Kota Doria, and Murshidabad. Each weave was enhanced with exquisite textures and cording.

This successful event illustrated the strength of Indian heritage textiles when presented in a global context, capturing the interest of a strong foreign audience for potential export opportunities.

The exhibition was organized collaboratively by key players in the Indian textile industry, along with Vaishali S Couture, Vaishali S Threadstories Private Limited from Mumbai, and the Handloom Export Promotion Council, with support from the Development Commissioner for Handlooms under the Ministry of Textiles.

Established for 24 years, Vaishali S Couture is committed to reviving traditional hand-weaving techniques and showcasing them on prestigious global luxury platforms through innovation, creativity, and exceptional quality.

The event also emphasized the stunning nature of Handloom, alongside the brand’s commitment to sustainability and a zero-waste approach.

Indian hand-woven textiles, symbolizing the cultural richness of the nation, were presented in a contemporary luxury fashion context.
