Hyderabad, Dec 28 (NationPress) The 85th All India Industrial Exhibition, a cherished yearly trade fair in Hyderabad, is set to commence on January 1.
Known as 'Numaish', this event stands as one of the oldest consumer exhibitions globally and will be officially opened by Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, the Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana.
During a press briefing on Sunday, State Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu announced that 1,050 stalls will be established on the expansive Numaish Maidan for the 45-day exhibition.
The All India Industrial Exhibition Society (AIIES) has allocated stalls to various traders and business entities from across the nation to showcase their products.
The entry fee has been revised to Rs 50 from the previous Rs 40 per person, while admission remains free for children under five years.
The Industries Minister emphasized that 'Numaish' upholds a legacy rooted in enterprise, culture, and communal life.
He stated, "This exhibition serves as a venue where artisans, MSMEs, families, and communities unite to explore innovation, tradition, and affordability all in one place."
"This year's 'Numaish' is particularly focused on safety, accessibility, and opportunities for women entrepreneurs, while still maintaining the spirit that has made it a beloved annual tradition for generations," added Sridhar Babu.
The exhibition will welcome visitors daily from 4 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., extending to 11 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
Originally launched in 1938 to promote locally produced goods, Numaish-e-Masnuaat-e-Mulki, or simply Numaish, was inaugurated by the seventh Nizam of Hyderabad State, Mir Osman Ali Khan.
Encouraged by positive feedback, it was decided to make it an annual event, with profits directed towards educational initiatives.
Starting with only 50 stalls and a capital of Rs 2.50, it has since transformed into one of India's largest industrial exhibitions.
A group of graduates from Osmania University conceived the idea for an exhibition to conduct an economic assessment of the state.
The event was not held in 1947 and 1948 due to the upheaval following India's independence.
After Hyderabad joined the Indian Union, the event resumed in 1949.
Unfortunately, it was also canceled in 2020 because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
From thrilling amusement rides to shopping at great deals and enjoying a diverse range of delectable food, this annual event promises endless entertainment.
Now in its 85th year, it is regarded as the ultimate carnival and an integral facet of Hyderabad's vibrant culture.
Attracting visitors not only from the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad but also from various regions of Telangana and neighboring states, the fair kicks off every January 1 and runs for 45 days.
Traders from across the nation set up their stalls during the exhibition, which sees approximately 45,000 visitors each day.
A unique fusion of economy and culture, the event takes place on vast grounds, with the proceeds supporting various educational and charitable institutions managed by the Society.
