IIT Delhi’s IHFC and Google Collaborate to Empower 33 Startups on Their AI Journey

New Delhi, Nov 30 (NationPress) The I-Hub Foundation for Cobotics (IHFC), the Technology Innovation Hub of IIT Delhi, has joined forces with Google for Startups to conduct a three-day intensive bootcamp supporting 33 early-stage startups in their Artificial Intelligence (AI) endeavors, as announced by the institute on Saturday.

This initiative is designed to empower emerging startups to utilize AI to tackle global challenges in various sectors including healthcare, climate, agriculture, education, financial inclusion, and infrastructure.

The AI Academy India 2024 bootcamp, held this week, was also backed by the MeitY Startup Hub. It attracted 33 startups from the Delhi NCR region, offering them hands-on training, expert mentorship, access to Google’s AI technologies, up to $350,000 in cloud credits, and a chance to network with industry leaders from Google.

“Collaborating with IHFC, the TIH of IIT Delhi, for the inaugural AI Academy program has been an honor. By aiding early-stage startups, we are collectively nurturing innovation and addressing pressing real-world issues. We anticipate extending our partnership with IHFC for more initiatives that empower startups to utilize AI,” stated Amit Kumar, Director of Digital Native Business, Google Cloud.

The startups involved are tackling a variety of issues: from an AI-driven platform improving education through interactive 3D simulations, to initiatives combating climate change by promoting circularity in textile waste, to fintech innovations offering AI-enhanced fraud detection and risk management, and healthcare solutions for early detection of blood cancer using AI/ML.

This bootcamp provided essential resources and mentorship for startups either currently leveraging or aspiring to leverage AI, all centered around the Start, Build, Grow theme.

Over the span of three days, discussions revolved around creating human-centered, secure AI solutions through workshops on People + AI, Responsible AI, product design, and building AI solutions with Google technologies. The hands-on workshops covered generative AI, app development, and Web AI, alongside technical mentoring and strategies for market deployment of AI solutions, including AI-powered marketing, fundraising, storytelling, and growth-oriented mentoring.

Furthermore, the bootcamp is set to take place in six additional cities across India in December, partnering with organizations such as Kerala Startup Mission, IIMA Ventures, T-Hub, MATH, NSRCEL IIM Bangalore, SINE IIT Bombay, IIT Madras Incubation Cell, alongside Nasscom AI and People+ai.

IHFC is committed to providing incubation support and funding up to 50 lakhs to selected startups from these cohorts.
