New Delhi, May 30 (NationPress) The artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem in India stands on the brink of a significant global breakthrough, as stated by Union Minister of Electronics and IT, Ashwini Vaishnaw.

The opportunities created by the government will empower startups—spanning areas like image editing, deep-tech, earth observation, and conversational AI—to explore international markets, forge global partnerships, and develop scalable, impactful solutions, the minister elaborated.

In a pivotal move to enhance India’s AI capabilities on the world stage, the IndiaAI Mission, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), has unveiled the selection of 10 startups for the 'IndiaAI Startups Global Initiative', an international acceleration programme in collaboration with Station F in Paris and HEC Paris.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s participation in the AI Action Summit in February 2024 not only highlights a strong political commitment but also underscores India’s ambition to influence global AI standards and innovation diplomacy,” noted the Union Minister.

“India's AI ecosystem is on the verge of a global breakthrough. Through initiatives like this, we are equipping our most promising startups to explore international markets, build global alliances, and create scalable, impactful solutions. This collaboration between the IndiaAI Mission, Station F, and HEC Paris marks a significant chapter in India's innovation diplomacy,” Vaishnaw further remarked.

Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary of MeitY and CEO of the IndiaAI Mission, mentioned that the 'IndiaAI Startups Global Initiative' transcends being just an acceleration programme.

“It serves as a bridge connecting India’s talent with the world’s innovation hubs. These 10 startups showcase the strength, diversity, and global potential of Indian AI. We are delighted to assist them in their journey to becoming global AI leaders,” he stated.

These selected startups underwent a rigorous multi-stage selection process and will represent India’s vibrant AI innovation ecosystem at Station F—the world’s largest startup campus—for a four-month programme aimed at facilitating their global expansion, market access, and cross-border cooperation.

The programme includes a one-month online preparatory module followed by a three-month immersive experience in Paris, France.

This initiative is part of the broader vision of the IndiaAI Mission to catalyze India’s leadership in responsible, scalable, and inclusive AI.
