In an interview with IANS on the third day of ‘IMC 2025’, Kumar remarked, "This event is remarkable, attracting numerous attendees. I am thankful to the Department of Telecommunications and the Government of India for their efforts in organising it. This event is pivotal for advancing innovation and indigenisation in India’s telecom framework."
When asked about the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the TCS executive highlighted that AI is significantly influencing every sector today, with telecom being no exception.
"We leverage AI to enhance network operations and security, and we consider digital, AI, 5G, and 6G as different terms for the same advancements," Kumar explained.
Reflecting on the company's milestones, he mentioned that TCS has effectively developed India’s indigenous 4G stack, which has been implemented in BSNL and is currently functioning across more than 97,000 sites.
Earlier at IMC, Manmeet Singh, Senior Director of Business Development (IoT, Auto, Connectivity, and Broadband) at Qualcomm India, noted that the central government is diligently crafting policies that enhance the entire ecosystem in the nation.
He commended the governmental initiatives, stating that the “Make in India” campaign was initially launched, representing not just manufacturing in India but also exporting home-grown products globally.
Singh highlighted that the government is now redirecting its focus toward product design within the country.
The India Mobile Congress stands as Asia’s largest digital technology forum, convening leaders from the telecom, media, and technology (TMT) sectors. The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) have partnered to organise this annual event.
