Brendan Dowling, Australia’s Ambassador for Cyber Affairs and Critical Technology, commended India for hosting what he termed a significant global event.

He remarked that the summit assembles policymakers, industry leaders, and think tanks to explore the profound interrelationship between technology and geopolitics.

“This summit has emerged as a truly significant global event. It gathers policymakers and industry think tanks to discuss geopolitics and technology,” Dowling stated in his conversation with IANS.

He asserted that technology is fundamental to international safety, security, and prosperity, and India’s proficient ICT workforce along with its flourishing software sector positions it as a vital partner in enhancing global tech capabilities.

Dowling also pointed out the potential for Australia and India to strengthen their bilateral technology collaboration, emphasizing the complementary advantages of both nations.

Jon Simonsson, Senior Director at the Swedish Prime Minister’s Office, highlighted the necessity for collaboration in driving technological advancements.

He mentioned that most emerging technologies cannot be developed in isolation; they necessitate collective efforts among countries, industries, academia, and public institutions.

Describing the summit as an outstanding platform, Simonsson noted that it facilitates the formation of shared understanding, collaborative initiatives, and even joint technological endeavors.

Janka Oertel, Director of the Asia programme and Senior Policy Fellow at the European Council on Foreign Relations, praised India’s inclusive strategy, particularly its outreach to the Global South, Europe, and the United States.

She underscored the summit as a vital venue for addressing not only the challenges arising from emerging technologies but also the opportunities they offer in a global framework.

“India has set forth an ambitious agenda, particularly in the area of digital public infrastructure, which could foster meaningful collaboration between India, Europe, and other regions,” Oertel shared with IANS.
