New Delhi, April 10 (NationPress) External Affairs Minister S. This 9th edition of the GTS is taking place in the capital city from April 10-12, with the theme for this year being ‘Sambhavna’, which translates to possibilities.
Jointly organized by the Ministry of External Affairs and prominent think tank Carnegie India, GTS-2025 is set to feature over 40 public sessions, including keynote speeches, ministerial dialogues, expert panels, and strategic discussions.
The inaugural session of the Summit will commence with an address from Dr. S. Jaishankar, the External Affairs Minister of India, as stated by the ministry.
The summit seeks to influence global technology policy discussions with an emphasis on innovation, resilience, and collaboration among nations.
Throughout the three-day event, more than 150 speakers from over 40 nations - including the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, Australia, France, Germany, Netherlands, Brazil, UAE, Nigeria, Philippines, and the European Union - will engage in dialogues regarding the most urgent technological challenges and opportunities currently facing the globe.
The discussions will cover an extensive array of vital topics - from AI governance, digital public infrastructure, and data protection, to cybersecurity, space security, and partnerships in emerging technologies across the Global South.
This year’s GTS 2025 will also highlight the perspectives of the younger generation. Through the GTS Young Ambassadors programme, students and young professionals from across India will have the opportunity to directly engage in policy discussions on digital futures, responsible AI, and global technology standards, as noted by the ministry.
Following the establishment of a world-class Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), Digital India has created a groundwork for a knowledge-driven economy and a digitally-empowered society, aiming for a 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047. Over the last decade, the government has initiated a digital revolution, motivating citizens to engage digitally, which has profoundly affected 1.4 billion individuals.
