Mumbai, April 10 (NationPress) Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) India has announced remarkable achievements in FY25 with a record-breaking 6,183 units sold, marking an impressive 40 per cent growth compared to FY24.
The company, which is a fully owned subsidiary of Tata Motors, also reported a 39 per cent increase in wholesales, which totaled 6,266 units for the fiscal year.
The final quarter of FY25 was particularly noteworthy, with retail sales hitting 1,793 units and wholesales reaching 1,710 units, reflecting an annual growth of 110 per cent and 118 per cent respectively.
Among the various models offered by JLR, the Defender stood out as the top seller in FY25, witnessing a remarkable 90 per cent year-on-year (YoY) increase in sales.
The locally assembled Range Rover and Range Rover Sport also showed strong performance, with growth rates of 72 per cent and 42 per cent respectively, as per company reports.
Rajan Amba, the Managing Director of JLR India, expressed that the company’s growth trajectory has exceeded that of the overall luxury car market.
“We have surpassed the luxury car sector with retail and wholesale growth around 40 per cent this year, supported by an 81 per cent year-on-year growth in FY24,” Amba noted.
He further attributed this success to the unwavering support from retail partners and the dedication of JLR teams in both India and the UK.
Looking forward, Amba emphasized the company’s commitment to sustaining this growth in FY26 through premium product offerings and exceptional customer experiences.
In contrast, earlier this week, Tata Motors reported a 3 per cent decline in global wholesales for the fourth quarter of FY25.
The total global wholesales, including JLR, amounted to 3,66,177 units in the March quarter, down from 3,77,432 units during the same quarter in the previous year (Q4 FY24).
Sales of commercial vehicles, including the Tata Daewoo range, fell by 3 per cent to 1,07,765 units, while passenger vehicle sales dropped by 6 per cent to 1,46,999 units compared to the same period last year.
