New Delhi, Dec 9 (NationPress) MOIL, India's leading producer of manganese ore, has concluded November with an outstanding array of operational accomplishments throughout its value chain, as reported in an official statement on Tuesday.
November saw the Raw Material Handling System (RMHS) achieving record-breaking feats with a peak of 616 wagons tipped in a single day on November 21. The plant also recorded its highest monthly base mix production of 518,886 tonnes.
At the Sinter Plant, NSL maintained its positive trend, setting daily and monthly production records with a remarkable output of 15,590 tonnes in one day on November 30, and a total of 414,271 tonnes for the month, operating at over 105% of its rated capacity, according to the official statement.
The Blast Furnace demonstrated impressive efficiency, achieving a record hot metal output of 11,315 tonnes on November 28, which corresponds to 119% of its rated capacity, and a total production of 280,049 tonnes for the month, surpassing 101% capacity utilization.
Importantly, NSL set a new monthly average low fuel rate of 519 kg per tonne of hot metal by utilizing only Sinter and Ore in the burden, one of the most efficient rates in the nation, alongside a highest monthly average PCI rate of 164 kg per tonne of hot metal.

“As India progresses towards becoming a global steel hub, NSL is poised to contribute significantly to this growth with technology-driven efficiency, an expanding product range, and a dedication to nation-building,” he added.
The Steel Melting Shop and Thin Slab Caster-Hot Strip Mills also marked their best performance. NSL achieved its highest monthly HR Coil production of 203,356 tonnes, Crude Steel production of 209,445 tonnes, and Liquid Steel output of 215,010 tonnes, with capacity utilization exceeding 84%, 85%, and 86% respectively.
“The plant has also set a new standard with the best-ever converter lining life of 4,799 heats. Two new grades -- IS 2062 E450BR and IS 2062 E350C -- have been successfully transitioned to commercial production, enhancing the company’s product offerings for construction, infrastructure, and heavy engineering sectors,” the statement further elaborated.
