New Delhi, March 3 (NationPress) The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has unveiled more than 3,100 paid internships in the fields of information technology (IT) and software development as part of the Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS).

These internships are being provided in partnership with leading companies in India, offering participants valuable networking opportunities with industry experts and insight into real business environments.

In a statement on the social media platform X, the ministry remarked, “The Prime Minister Internship Scheme introduces over 3,100 internships in IT and software development with premier Indian firms.”

“Shape your future in fields such as information/cybersecurity, sales and marketing, finance accounting, and more,” the announcement continued.

This initiative is designed to provide a distinctive platform for young individuals to improve their skills and obtain hands-on experience in the technology sector.

The ministry disclosed that interns will earn a monthly stipend of Rs 5000, in addition to a one-time financial assistance of Rs 6,000.

Moreover, those who successfully complete a 12-month internship will receive a certificate.

The PM Internship Scheme, launched in the Union Budget 2024-25, requires the top 500 companies to offer internship positions to one crore youth over the next five years.

This scheme targets individuals aged 21 to 24 who are not presently engaged in any full-time academic program or job, providing them with a remarkable chance to initiate their careers.

More than 300 leading companies from diverse sectors such as oil, gas, energy, banking, financial services, travel, hospitality, automotive, metals, mining, manufacturing, industrial, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), and more, have presented internship opportunities for the youth across the nation.

Meanwhile, the MCA announced last month that applications are now open for the second round of the PM Internship scheme pilot.

Following over six lakh applications in Round 1, the second round now offers over one lakh internship opportunities with leading firms across more than 730 districts nationwide.

According to the ministry, eligible youth can select internships based on their preferred district, state, sector, and field, with the flexibility to filter internships within a customizable radius from their current address.

In the second round, each applicant can apply for up to three internships before the application deadline.
