New Delhi, Feb 20 (NationPress) The Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS) has reopened for applications with the initiation of Round 2 of its pilot phase, as announced by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) on Thursday.

Following an overwhelming response of over 600,000 applications in Round 1, this new phase provides more than 100,000 internship opportunities in leading companies across 730 districts nationwide.

This initiative is aimed at individuals aged 21 to 24 who are not currently engaged in any full-time academic programs or employment, offering them a remarkable opportunity to launch their careers.

Participants will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 5,000, along with a one-time financial support of Rs 6,000.

Over 300 leading companies from diverse sectors such as Oil, Gas, and Energy; Banking and Financial Services; Travel and Hospitality; Automotive; Metals & Mining; Manufacturing & Industrial; Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) have joined forces to provide internship opportunities, allowing Indian youth to gain practical experience, connect with industry professionals, and boost their employability.

According to the Ministry, eligible candidates can browse and select internships tailored to their preferred district, state, sector, and area, filtering options within a customizable radius from their current address.

In this round, each applicant is permitted to apply for up to three internships before the application deadline.

Additionally, over 70 IEC events are being organized nationwide in districts with the highest number of internship opportunities at colleges, universities, ITIs, and Rozgar melas, based on the qualifications required.

Moreover, national digital campaigns are actively being conducted through various platforms and influencers, focusing on the concentration of opportunities relevant to youth.

The PM Internship Scheme aims to tap into the potential of India's youth by offering them 12-month paid internships in premier companies across India.

Each internship will encompass a blend of pertinent training and professional exposure (minimum six months) to ensure that candidates can learn and apply their skills in real-world contexts.
