New Delhi, March 31 (NationPress) Nissan Motor India announced on Monday that it has achieved its best performance in a single fiscal year for FY 2024-25, marking the highest sales in seven years, despite numerous challenges confronting the domestic auto sector.

In FY25, the car manufacturer reported a total domestic volume exceeding 28,000 units, primarily driven by the launch of the New Nissan Magnite in October 2024.

This impressive achievement occurred despite the growing consumer inclination towards alternative fuel vehicles in the B-SUV category in India, as stated by the company.

On the export side, Nissan expanded its reach from 20 markets to more than 65 international markets, achieving a remarkable export sales figure of over 71,000 units, which further emphasizes India's role as a burgeoning manufacturing and export center for Nissan worldwide.

This culminates in a total consolidated sales figure of more than 99,000 units for FY 2024-25.

Frank Torres, Divisional Vice President of AMIEO Region Business Transformation and President of Nissan India Operations, stated that India continues to be a robust growth pillar for Nissan, propelled by the ongoing success of the Nissan Magnite.

“The export of the new Nissan Magnite has expanded to over 65 international markets, including LHD (left-hand drive) regions this year,” he noted.

Regarding the restructuring of operations in India as part of global turnaround initiatives, he remarked, “Nissan is devoted to the Indian market, along with its customers, dealer partners, employees, and stakeholders.

“Nissan’s commitment to India’s product strategy remains steadfast, including plans to introduce an all-new B-MPV and two new C-SUVs. We will persist in our plans to export vehicles globally as per our 'One Car, One World' strategy,” Torres added.

The transaction is pending regulatory approval, with completion anticipated by the end of H1 2025.

Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director of Nissan Motor India, expressed that as they progress, with the recent announcement of new models including a 7-seater B-MPV and 5-seater C-SUV, “we are dedicated to providing an exciting product range and expanding our dealer network to enhance customer satisfaction.”

Nissan Motor India also revealed plans to raise the price of the New Nissan Magnite by up to 3 percent starting April 1, to counterbalance increasing input costs and operational expenses.
