Strengthening Logistics and Empowering SMBs Essential for Achieving Viksit Bharat Vision: Insights from Amazon's Abhinav Singh

New Delhi, Dec 10 (NationPress) To realize the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047, creating an exceptional logistics infrastructure, digitizing small and medium businesses (SMBs), and fostering the next wave of entrepreneurs are pivotal, and Amazon India’s VP of Operations, Abhinav Singh, expressed this on Tuesday.
In an interview with IANS during a corporate event in the national capital, Singh remarked that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's aspiration for a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047 necessitates contributions from all segments of society, including large corporations, the private sector, and government, but he emphasized that “SMBs will play one of the most crucial roles.”
“The entrepreneurs spearheading the businesses of the future will create unmatched job opportunities. They will address current consumer challenges and revolutionize societal norms,” he stated.
“I firmly believe that realizing ‘Viksit Bharat’ is achievable only with a flourishing small and medium business ecosystem that tackles both present and future problems while generating employment for millions,” the Amazon executive highlighted.
Amazon has allocated $120 million from its ‘Smbhav Venture Fund’ to invest in startups focused on digitizing consumer goods manufacturing in India and catering to both domestic and international markets, thereby creating thousands of job opportunities.
The company has successfully generated a total of 1.4 million direct and indirect jobs within the nation.
Singh noted that over the past 12 years, the company has developed not only the infrastructure but also a customer-centric organization in the logistics sector, ensuring swift and reliable deliveries nationwide.
“India is on the verge of becoming the world’s third-largest economy. We have remarkable infrastructure and some of the brightest minds innovating at scale for consumers across the country,” Singh informed IANS.
India is constructing the proper infrastructure for multimodal logistics, and as part of the PM Gati Shakti initiative, we are establishing multimodal hubs throughout the country, he added.
