New Delhi, April 1 (NationPress) The Indian automotive industry has announced impressive sales results for March, particularly within the SUV market, propelled by rising private consumption and a robust economy.

Leading the charge, Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Kia India demonstrated remarkable growth in their SUV sales.

Maruti Suzuki India, the country's largest car producer, experienced an increase of nearly 4.5% in its SUV sales in March 2025, with 61,097 units sold compared to 58,436 units during the same month last year.

The overall sales performance of Maruti Suzuki in March 2025 rose by 3.1% year-on-year (YoY), totaling 192,984 units, up from 187,196 units in March 2024.

The company also achieved its highest-ever annual sales of 2,234,266 units for FY25, which includes its record domestic sales of 1,795,259 units and exports of 332,585 units.

Mahindra & Mahindra also made significant gains in the SUV sector, selling 48,048 vehicles domestically in March—a growth of 18%.

Overall, the company's SUV sales, including exports, reached 50,835 vehicles for the month. The company reported its highest-ever annual SUV sales of 551,487 units in FY25—a 20% growth compared to the previous year.

Mahindra’s total vehicle sales in March 2025 were 83,894 units, reflecting a 23% YoY increase. The company also introduced its Electric Origin SUVs, which are experiencing strong demand.

"The year concluded positively with us selling over 500,000 SUVs in the domestic market for the first time," remarked Veejay Nakra, President of the Automotive Division at M&M Limited.

Kia India, recognized for its mass-premium products, recorded domestic sales of 25,525 units in March 2025, marking a 19.3% increase from 21,400 units in March 2024.

The Sonet remained Kia's best-selling model, accounting for 30% of total sales, followed by the Seltos, Carens, and Syros.

Hardeep Singh Brar, Senior VP and Head of Sales and Marketing at Kia, expressed optimism regarding the brand's ongoing growth, highlighting the enthusiastic response to the Kia Syros and the company's commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction.
