New Delhi, Dec 2 (NationPress) Tesla has made a much-anticipated entrance into India's burgeoning luxury electric vehicle market, yet the journey has started more sluggishly than expected. The company has recorded sales of 157 units since deliveries initiated in September.
As per the government’s Vahan portal, Tesla managed to deliver only 48 cars in November, falling behind established luxury competitors such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
In stark contrast, BMW India achieved sales of 267 EVs in the same month, underscoring the fierce competition Tesla faces in the premium vehicle market.
The US-based manufacturer launched its Model Y electric SUV as its inaugural offering in India, marking the commencement of its operations within the country.
