New Delhi, April 18 (NationPress) The Create in India Challenge (CIC) Season 1, initiated under the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES 2025), has garnered close to 1 lakh registrations, with more than 1,100 international participants, as stated by the government on Friday.

This challenge has drawn submissions from over 60 countries, showcasing the extensive global interest and influence of this innovative program.

From this remarkable pool of talent, 750 finalists will have the chance to present their creative talents and outcomes at Creatosphere, a specially curated venue highlighting innovation across animation, comics, AI, XR, gaming, music, and more, as part of WAVES 2025.

The winners will receive the esteemed ‘WAVES Creator Awards’ during a ceremony on Day 2 of the event, slated to take place at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai from May 1-4, according to a statement from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

The Creatosphere at WAVES will feature exceptional global participation, with 43 international finalists showcasing their skills, thereby adding an authentic international aspect to this celebration of creativity.

These finalists hail from over 20 countries, including Argentina, Nepal, Germany, Bermuda (BOT), the United States, Greece, Indonesia, the United Kingdom, Canada, Italy, Laos, Thailand, Tajikistan, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Russia, Maldives, Malaysia, and Japan.

Notably, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Tajikistan contribute 6 finalists each, followed by 5 each from Indonesia and Maldives, and 4 from Mauritius.

The United States is represented by 2 finalists, while Russia, Canada, Argentina, Laos, Malaysia, Bermuda, Egypt, Thailand, and the United Kingdom each have 1 finalist.

In India, the challenges have seen enthusiastic engagement from all 28 states and 8 Union Territories, highlighting the national reach of the initiative.

The Create in India Challenges are predominantly fueled by young creators in their 20s, illustrating a dynamic ecosystem of college students, early-career professionals, and teenage innovators. With the youngest finalist being just 12 years old and the oldest at 66, this initiative showcases a truly inclusive creative platform that spans all ages.
