Mumbai, April 15 (NationPress) Akshay Kumar made a sincere plea to the audience during the premiere of his film ‘Kesari: Chapter 2’ in Delhi.

The actor earnestly asked everyone to store their phones away, stressing the significance of immersing oneself in the film without interruptions. While speaking at the event, Kumar urged attendees not to engage with their phones and to attentively absorb the film's dialogue. He remarked, “I kindly ask you all to please keep your phones in your pockets and pay attention to every dialogue of this film. It would mean a lot. If you check your Instagram during the movie, it would be disrespectful to the film. So I request all to keep their phones away.”

On April 15, just before its release, the eagerly awaited film 'Kesari: Chapter 2' had its spectacular premiere in Delhi. The special screening was graced by numerous influential political figures and dignitaries. The event featured Akshay Kumar and R. Madhavan at a theatre in Chanakyapuri, Delhi, where they welcomed several distinguished guests for a private viewing.

Notable attendees included Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj, Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, and Minister Anurag Thakur. A source indicated that upon arriving in the capital, Akshay first engaged with CM Rekha Gupta before proceeding to the screening. The Delhi Chief Minister also participated in the special film presentation.

Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Minister for Environment, Forest, and Wildlife, shared images and videos from the event on his X handle, stating, “It’s a privilege to attend the screening of KKesari Chapter 2 with S. @HardeepSPuriji, CM @gupta_rekha ji, @BansuriSwaraj Ji & @Anurag_Thakur ji. The film serves as a powerful tribute to the heroes of Jallianwala Bagh.”

“Kudos to @akshaykumar & @ActorMadhavan for brilliantly depicting the bravery of Adv. Sankaran Nair, who courageously stood for the truth against British oppression. KKesari Chapter 2 not only pays homage to his legacy but also dares to unveil the dark chapters of Congress’s history, when they allied with British tyrants and silenced the true heroes of our freedom struggle. That same cruel mindset resurfaced in 1984, when Congress unleashed terror on Sikhs, echoing the very brutality of the British they once served. Grateful to @neelkantbakshi Ji for the invitation,” (sic) he added.

In a subsequent post, Manjinder Singh Sirsa stated, “Watching KKesari Chapter 2 makes it evident… Congress mirrored the British: suppressing truth, silencing heroes, safeguarding tyranny. In 1984, the same mentality led to mobs burning homes, violating women, and massacring thousands of Sikhs. Evidence was destroyed, and perpetrators were rewarded. This was a state-backed genocide, no different from colonial atrocities!!” (sic)

Set against the backdrop of the tragic events at Jallianwala Bagh, the film is scheduled to hit theatres on April 18.
