Mumbai, April 16 (NationPress) Actress Anu Aggarwal, the renowned star of the cult classic "Aashiqui", expressed her profound bond with the film, referring to it as her ‘cherished creation’ and ‘lifeblood’.
In an emotional discussion, she revealed the personal importance that Aashiqui holds for her and why the film still resonates deeply within her.
Reflecting on her time during ‘Aashiqui’, Anu shared with IANS, “When I got involved with Aashiqui, it wasn’t a hit at the time. Mahesh Bhatt was not recognized as a commercial filmmaker then—he was primarily known for art-house cinema, stepping into his first mainstream venture. Therefore, Aashiqui was not just another project for me; I played a role in its creation. It is incredibly personal. It’s like my baby, my lifeblood. This project remains extremely dear to me.”
The actress also shared her views on the new stars of the franchise’s upcoming third installment. When asked about the guidance she would give to actors joining a project like Aashiqui, Anu Aggarwal said, “I’d advise this not from a place of arrogance, whether it pertains to me, Mahesh Bhatt’s films, or even T-Series—anyone who becomes a part of Aashiqui is entering a legacy. When you step into a legacy, half the struggle is already overcome. A significant audience will come to see you simply because it bears the Aashiqui name. That’s why newcomers should feel thankful and respectful for the opportunity they’ve received.”
Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela are set to star in ‘Aashiqui 3’. Anurag Basu’s direction will mark Sreeleela’s debut in Bollywood. The highly awaited film, which is still pending its official title, had to change its initial name, ‘Aashiqui 3’, due to legal issues. Produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar, the film is anticipated to present a captivating love story. The release is scheduled for Diwali 2025.
