Mumbai, Jan 23 (NationPress) Citara is broadening its influence to make cinema easily accessible by managing the operations of four screens in both South and North Kashmir.

Residents of Shopian, Pulwama, Handwara, and Baramullah will soon have the opportunity to indulge in a diverse range of cinematic offerings, such as First Day First Show, Kids Film Festival, Golden Era classics, and more, commencing in February 2025. This initiative represents a significant advancement in Citara's objective to improve access to quality entertainment within the region.

Regarding this initiative, Producer Pradeep Sharma, the Founder of Citara, mentioned, “The aspiration to introduce cinema to Kashmir was inspired by the vision of the Honorable Prime Minister: Narendra Modi and Lt. Governor Sinha. Citara is devoted to bringing the excitement of 'First Day First Show' to these areas and eventually to Pahalgam, Anantnag, Kishtwar, and Bhadarwah.

Rumi Jaffrey, the filmmaker, shared his excitement for this project, stating that Kashmir has always been a coveted destination for every storyteller and director. He believes that Citara’s initiatives will introduce the enchantment of the big screen to the Kashmir Valley, allowing local audiences to experience cinema like never before.

Saurabh Saxena, ED of Citara, added, “We are ready to provide high-quality 'First Day First Shows', Kids Cinema, and more for the local community. With the introduction of screens, Reels Cafe, Reels Point, and other facilities, we aim to create more employment opportunities for the youth of Kashmir.

According to a source familiar with the developments, the company is also set to expand its presence to Udhampur, Kishtwar, Doda, Bhadarwah, Pahalgam, and Anatnag throughout the year.
