Dharmendra Pays Tribute to Raj Kapoor on His 100th Birth Anniversary: Forever in Our Hearts

Mumbai, December 14 (NationPress) On the milestone of the 100th birth anniversary of the legendary Raj Kapoor, veteran actor Dharmendra fondly reminisced about the star, emphasizing that he will be cherished forever.

Dharmendra shared a touching monochrome photo on Instagram, showcasing the two stars in a warm embrace.

In his heartfelt caption, he expressed: “Dear Raj Saheb, Happy Birthday to you. We miss you! You will always be remembered with immense love and respect.”

This past Friday, the entire Kapoor family, the pioneering film dynasty of Hindi cinema, organized a gathering to celebrate the legacy of their revered patriarch.

Bollywood superstar Ranbir Kapoor and his actress wife Alia Bhatt were among the attendees, alongside Neetu Kapoor and sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahni.

Other notable figures from the industry, including Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, were also present, along with Kareena’s father Randhir Kapoor, sister Karisma Kapoor, and family members Navya Naveli Nanda, Aadar Jain, and Alekha Advani.

The event also saw the participation of several prominent personalities from the Hindi film industry, including Rekha, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Rajkumar Hirani, Karan Johar, Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Anil Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Kartik Aaryan, Prem Chopra, Sharman Joshi, and Kunal Kapoor.

Known as the “He-Man” of Bollywood, Dharmendra rose to fame in the mid-1960s with hit films like “Ayee Milan Ki Bela”, “Phool Aur Patthar”, “Aaye Din Bahar Ke”, “Ankhen”, “Shikar”, “Aya Sawan Jhoom Ke”, “Jeevan Mrityu”, “Mera Gaon Mera Desh”, “Seeta Aur Geeta”, “Raja Jani”, “Jugnu”, “Yaadon Ki Baaraat”, “Dost”, “Sholay”, “Hukumat”, “Aag Hi Aag”, and “The Burning Train”.

In the late 1990s, he transitioned into character roles in acclaimed films such as “Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya”, “Life in a... Metro”, “Apne”, “Johnny Gaddaar”, and “Yamla Pagla Deewana”.

Recently, the octogenarian has appeared in movies like “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani” and “Teri Baaton Mein Uljha Jiya”.

He is set to star next in Sriram Raghavan’s “Ikkis”, featuring Agastya Nanda. The film revolves around the backdrop of the 1971 war and narrates the story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetrapal.
