Chennai, Mar 19 (NationPress) Director S U Arun Kumar, who is at the helm of actor Vikram’s highly anticipated action film ‘Veera Dheera Sooran’, has revealed his long-standing admiration for Vikram. He recounted an incident where he faced lathi blows from police to witness Vikram’s blockbuster ‘Dhool’ in a theater in Madurai.

During an interview with the full cast of Veera Dheera Sooran, S U Arun Kumar expressed, “I have a unique connection with both Vikram sir and SJ Suryah sir. I will share stories about both.”

Reflecting on how Vikram sir greenlit this project, Arun reminisced about the time, as a school student, he faced police brutality to see Vikram’s ‘Dhool’.

The director stated, “In my school days, I skipped classes to watch sir’s ‘Dhool’ at Madurai’s Chinthamani theater. Securing tickets on opening day was nearly impossible due to overwhelming demand. The police used significant force to manage the crowds.”

“Tickets were only available by standing in line. As I was trying to purchase a ticket, an officer struck me with his lathi, insisting I queue correctly. The impact was so severe that my left shoulder swelled. Nevertheless, I persisted and acquired a ticket to enter the theater. Unfortunately, I couldn't see the screen clearly due to fans blocking the view. Additionally, pillars obstructed my sight. Determined to catch the scenes I missed, I bought another ticket for the next showing and watched the film again,” he shared.

Interestingly, Veera Dheera Sooran, featuring a stellar cast including Chiyaan Vikram, S.J. Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and Dushara Vijayan, is set to release its second part on March 27 this year.

The film boasts cinematography by Theni Eswar, music by G.V. Prakash Kumar, editing by G.K. Prasanna, and art direction by C.S. Balachandar. Produced by Riya Shibu of HR Pictures, it promises to be an exhilarating action thriller.
