Chennai, Mar 18 (NationPress) National Award-winning Malayalam actor Suraj Venjaramoodu, who is making his Tamil film debut in Veera Dheera Sooran, directed by S U Arun Kumar and starring Vikram, recently shared in a humorous interview how he was completely taken aback on the second day of shooting upon realizing the extensive amount of dialogues he was required to deliver in a single take!
The acclaimed Malayalam actor, celebrated for numerous outstanding performances, participated in a light-hearted interview alongside his co-stars. He amusingly recounted the challenges he faced while working on his inaugural Tamil project without being familiar with the language.
“I had managed to find director Arun Kumar's contact information to express my desire to collaborate with him. Coincidentally, the film's producer reached out and mentioned, ‘I’m producing a film with Vikram, and director Arun Kumar would like to narrate the script to you.’ I simply replied, ‘Okay.’ Arun Kumar came over and narrated the script to me in Tamil. I kept nodding, saying ‘Okay’ without understanding a single word. I only inquired, ‘Will I suit this character?’ to which he replied, 'Yes, sir,'” he recounted, causing laughter among his fellow cast members.
Suraj continued, “It was only two days before shooting that I finally learned from the director what the story entailed. He explained my character to me.”
Describing this film as a monumental experience in his acting career, Suraj stated, “I wasn’t familiar with Tamil. On the first day, I asked if I had any dialogues, and the director assured me, 'Yes, there’s a small dialogue. Don’t worry, we can manage it.’ As he promised, it was indeed a small dialogue, and I delivered it. I quickly grew confident, telling myself, ‘I can handle this.’ However, the next day when I approached him about my dialogues again, he handed me a large stack of voice recordings. I exclaimed, ‘This must be the entire film’s dialogue!’ He corrected me, saying, ‘No, these are just your lines,’ as the rest of the cast burst into laughter.
“I queried, ‘Is all of this for today?’ He replied, ‘No, we’ll film it tomorrow.’ However, he further revealed that this was merely for one scene. I was stunned, exclaiming, ‘What! Just one shot?’ I felt as though I experienced three heart attacks at once upon hearing that. I tried to discreetly back away and escape, but I was trapped in a forest where we were filming,” he shared.
The actor expressed gratitude for how the crew supported him, allowing the filming to progress smoothly by breaking down the scenes into manageable parts.
Interestingly, Veera Dheera Sooran features a remarkable ensemble cast that includes Chiyaan Vikram, S.J. Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and Dushara Vijayan. The film’s second installment is set to release on March 27 this year.
With cinematography by Theni Eswar, music composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar, and editing by G.K. Prasanna, the film’s art direction is handled by C.S. Balachandar. Produced by Riya Shibu of HR Pictures, this film promises to be an edge-of-the-seat action thriller.
