Divya Khossla Celebrates 11 Years of 'Yaariyan': A Film Close to Her Heart

Mumbai, Jan 13 (NationPress) Actress and filmmaker Divya Khossla marked her directorial debut with the romantic comedy 'Yaariyan', starring Himansh Kohli and Rakul Preet Singh in lead roles. As this project celebrated its 11th anniversary on January 10, 2024, Divya Khossla expressed that the film occupies a unique position in her heart.
Reflecting on this significant milestone for 'Yaariyan', Divya Khossla stated, 'It holds a special place in my heart.' She further disclosed that she personally conducted the auditions, a process that spanned approximately a year and a half. She mentioned, 'I didn’t hire a casting director; I did it all myself.' After finalizing the cast, she organized year-long workshops to prepare the actors for filming.
When 'Yaariyan' premiered in cinemas back in 2014, it garnered an enthusiastic response, particularly among college students. The actress fondly reminisced about a phone call from her mother in Delhi, who shared, 'She couldn’t get tickets for three days because students were flocking to theaters.' Divya added, 'It put me in a place where people started knowing who Divya Khossla was, and I’ll always remain thankful to Yaariyan for what it gave me.'
The film was produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar under the T-Series Super Cassettes Industries banner. The cast also included Serah Singh, Nicole Faria, Shreyas Pardiwalla, Dev Sharma, Jatin Suri, Vikas Verma, Evelyn Sharma, and Sayali Bhagat in important roles. Regarding the technical team, Aarif Sheikh led the editing department, while Sameer Arya handled cinematography. Pritam served as the composer.
On a different note, Divya Khossla recently impressed audiences with her remarkable performance in 'Savi', where she portrayed a determined housewife striving to break her husband out of a high-security prison.
