Chennai, Jan 22 (NationPress) One of the leading music directors in Tamil cinema, Ghibran, stated that his composition for director Mohan G Kshatriyan's highly anticipated period film 'Draupathi 2' enabled him to delve into distinct musical territories.

In a recent conversation, the acclaimed music composer Ghibran, recognized for his impressive body of work, shared that creating music for this historical period film was quite a challenge.

Ghibran elaborated, "Going back in time to craft music that transcends our current norms was significantly demanding. 'Draupathi 2' goes beyond a typical war drama, encapsulating our cultural values, emotional depth, poetry, romance, vengeance, and patriotism. This project allowed me to venture into unique musical realms, reminiscent of my collaboration with Kamal Haasan in 'Uthama Villain'. I felt a substantial responsibility regarding the background score, especially given the stunning visuals captured by Philip K Sundar."

Produced by Chola Chakravarthy of Netaji Productions in collaboration with G. M Film Corporation, 'Draupathi 2' has sparked immense excitement among fans.

The narrative unfolds in the 14th century, set against the reign of Hoysala emperor Veera Vallalar III, highlighting the bravery of the Kadavarayas of Sendhamangalam and the tumultuous changes instigated by the Mughal invasion of Tamil Nadu.

Alongside Richard Rishi and Rakshana Induchoodan in lead roles, actor and cinematographer Natti Natraj will portray a significant character.

The cast also includes actors Y. G. Mahendran, Nadodigal Barani, Saravana Subbiah, Vela Ramamoorthy, Siraj Johnny, Dinesh Lamba, Ganesh Gaurang, Divi, Devayani Sharma, and Arunodayan, further enhancing the film’s historical narrative and dramatic impact.

Director Mohan G Kshatriyan previously informed IANS that 'Draupathi 2' will continue from the first installment, 'Draupathi'. "The film has a runtime of 2 hours and 39 minutes, with only eight to nine minutes set in 2025, while the rest takes place in the 14th century," he revealed.

He mentioned that the screenplay was inspired by a small book titled Moondram Vallalla Maharaja by historian Annal Kandar.

"All significant historical events depicted in the film are based on factual occurrences. However, we have employed cinematic liberties in character development. It took nearly a year to finalize the script, as I had to consult many individuals to gain insights on this topic. The third Veera Vallalalar ruled with Thiruvannamalai as the capital of Tamil Nadu," he explained.

The film is backed by a strong technical team; the Telugu dialogues are written by Samrat, and Ghibran Vaibodha has composed the music.

Cinematography is handled by Philip R. Sundar, while choreography is managed by Thanika Tony.

Action sequences are choreographed by Action Santosh, and editing is performed by Devaraj. The art direction has been executed by Kamalnathan.
