Los Angeles, March 9 (NationPress) Hollywood actor Jason Isaacs disclosed that he was terrified he might be stabbed by his stalker.
He criticized the police for being ineffective in handling the matter, claiming they did not take him seriously for a prolonged period regarding the threatening actions of an unidentified young woman, which began in the late 1990s, according to femalefirst.co.uk.
In an interview with the i newspaper, he said: “I went mad with it. I should have written a film about it. 'Baby Reindeer' is perhaps a bit more dramatic but not by much. I was terrified my house would be set on fire or I’d be stabbed.
“And because it was a young woman, the police didn’t take it seriously for a long time. She might read this, which is unsettling.”
Isaacs recounted how one night, the woman was apprehended outside his home, mistakenly released, and then showed up at his door again.
On another occasion, a police officer allegedly suggested he should “just knock her out,” while on a different instance, the police recommended he change his name and profession.
He expressed his outrage: “That’s a ludicrous suggestion! The police were practically useless. They kept insisting I must have had an affair with her. But I’d never even met her.”
The 'Harry Potter' star previously shared that he had taken the woman to court “multiple times,” yet she would obsessively and constantly reach out to him once restraining orders had lapsed.
The actor believed his stalker was perpetually “watching” him from his street.
He mentioned: “Friends joke about it, but then I describe what it’s like having someone standing outside your door banging on it in the early hours of the morning, and a chill suddenly fills the room.
“What was particularly strange was that I could be away from home for six months or a year filming, and the harassment would commence again the moment I returned. So, I thought, ‘Wow, is she just standing in my street every day, watching?’ ”
