Mumbai, Nov 6 (NationPress) Actor Kunaal Roy Kapur, who features in the show “Thode Door Thode Paas”, where a family abandons technology to embrace a lifestyle reminiscent of the 1970s and 1980s, believes that both the younger and older generations today are trapped in isolated bubbles.
Kunaal expressed: “We were all more comfortable being bored as children. That encouraged us to explore our passions and allowed more opportunities for human connection. I feel both age groups today are living in isolated bubbles. If people could simply learn to straighten their necks and look up at each other again, it would be fantastic.”
Reflecting on the concept of living without technology, he remarked, “It would be nearly impossible for anyone today. We feel such anxiety if we accidentally leave our phone at home, it’s like being lost or missing a limb.”
“Our devices connect us to work, personal lives, and entertainment; being disconnected from all of that would pose a significant challenge. It would require a complete rethinking of how we live and allocate our time.”
When asked what he would miss the most and what he might enjoy rediscovering, Kunal responded: “Definitely my phone. As a freelance actor, it’s my primary means of receiving work opportunities and staying in touch with family and friends.”
He added: “I’d probably enjoy dedicating more time to reading books, capturing photographs, drawing, or even cooking. I engage in these activities, but without distractions, I would delve into them much more.”
The show also features Pankaj Kapur and Mona Singh. This upcoming slice-of-life dramedy is set to premiere digitally on November 7.
Available on ZEE5, the series is set against a nostalgic backdrop, transporting viewers to a time when conversations were authentic, patience was valued, and family interactions didn't require Wi-Fi.
Thode Door Thode Paas serves as a poignant reminder that sometimes, disconnecting from screens can bring people together. The production team includes Manish Trehan, Shailesh Sanghvi, Nailesh Gada, and is directed by Ajay Bhuyan.
‘Thode Door Thode Paas’ will be available for streaming on ZEE5 starting November 7.
