Mumbai, January 14 (NationPress) Bollywood and television star Mona Singh has established a striking connection between the offbeat film Delhi Belly and her forthcoming project Happy Patel.
Having thrived in both mainstream and avant-garde narratives, Mona emphasized that the unique charm that rendered Delhi Belly a classic is significantly present in Happy Patel.
Reflecting on the feedback Delhi Belly garnered, Mona remarked, “The descriptors used for Delhi Belly—dark, quirky, offbeat—aptly fit Happy Patel as well. I loved being part of this wonderfully chaotic realm.”
Similar to Delhi Belly, Happy Patel appears to flourish with its bold narrative and unexpected plot twists.
Produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos is helmed by Vir Das and features an ensemble cast including Mona Singh, Sharib Hashmi, and Mithila Palkar. The film is set to hit theaters on January 16, 2026.
On a personal note, Mona Singh has been a recognizable figure in the entertainment sector for nearly 25 years.
Her iconic television series Jassi Jassi Koi Nahin, which aired from September 1, 2003, to May 4, 2006, elevated her status among top actors.
Running for almost three years, the show made Mona Singh a household name as Jassi. With her signature glasses, braces, and simple attire, Jassi symbolized intelligence, sincerity, and resilience.
Singh previously shared that the production team was highly protective of her character's appearance, even restricting media access to the set to keep her true look a secret.
Most recently, Mona appeared in Aryan Khan's directorial debut, The Ba*ds of Bollywood, portraying the mother of lead actor Laksh Lalwani, a performance that received widespread acclaim.
During the trailer launch of The Ba*ds of Bollywood, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan warmly acknowledged Singh, expressing his long-standing admiration for Jassi Jassi Koi Nahin, a moment that filled her with joy.
Besides Happy Patel, she will also feature in Border 2, opposite Sunny Deol.
