Chennai, April 28 (NationPress) One of India's most esteemed filmmakers, SS Rajamouli, has officially confirmed that actor Nani will be part of his ambitious project, 'Mahabharatham'.
Rajamouli has frequently shared his vision of creating a 10-part saga based on one of the world's greatest epics.
At a recent pre-release event for 'Hit: The Third Case' in Hyderabad, Rajamouli was questioned by the anchor about the circulating rumors regarding the character Nani would portray in the franchise.
In response, Rajamouli cautiously revealed that while the specific character has not been determined, it is confirmed that Nani will play a significant role in the franchise.
It’s worth noting that Rajamouli is currently engaged in a film project with actor Mahesh Babu, temporarily titled SSMB29.
A substantial portion of this film, which boasts an extravagant budget, has been filmed in Odisha. This action-adventure film, featuring Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran, is anticipated for release in 2027.
Nani, who previously collaborated with Rajamouli on the hit film 'Eega', is set to release 'Hit: The Third Case' on May 1.
During the event, Nani reminisced about his earlier statement regarding the film Court: State Vs A Nobody, which he produced. He had made a promise that this film would captivate audiences, stating that if it failed to meet expectations, viewers could skip his next film, 'Hit: The Third Case'. Fortunately, Court became a massive success.
Reflecting on this past, Nani noted that he was able to name Hit 3 during the release of Court as he produced both films. "I was willing to take that risk. However, this time I cannot do the same as my next film is produced by someone else. So, if Hit 3 does not meet your expectations, feel free to skip this film #SSM..., which is set for release next year," he humorously stated, glancing at Rajamouli. He then assured everyone that he was joking and added, "What instills confidence in us is that no one will be able to resist watching SSMB29, even if we suggest they do. Not only will it appeal to Telugu speakers or Indians, but audiences worldwide will undoubtedly want to see it."
