Pete Davidson Discloses His Earnings from ‘Saturday Night Live’

Los Angeles, Dec 5 (NationPress) Actor-comedian Pete Davidson has disclosed the earnings of actors on the renowned American late-night live sketch comedy show ‘Saturday Night Live’, and the figures seem rather underwhelming given the show's impressive legacy.

According to Pete Davidson, actors receive $3,000 for each episode, as reported by Female First UK.

The 31-year-old comedian-actor, who has an estimated net worth of $8 million, revealed that most of his wealth did not stem from his time on ‘SNL’. In a video recap for New York magazine, he shared with past and present co-stars what their biggest splurge was after receiving their first ‘SNL’ paycheck, stating, “Do you guys know what they pay us? It’s, like, three grand an episode. I think I got dinner.”

As noted by Female First UK, the sketch comedy show is currently in its 50th season and has served as a launching pad for numerous stars, including Dan Aykroyd, Adam Sandler, and Pete. The show typically runs one season per fiscal year, with each season featuring between 18 to 22 episodes. Based on Pete’s assertion regarding the pay, a cast member participating in every episode of a season would earn between $54,000 and $66,000 annually.

Current cast member James Austin Johnson, 35, told New York magazine that he purchased “the most uncomfortable West Elm couch of all time” with his first ‘SNL’ paycheck.

He remarked, “I swear to God, it’s, like, made of bricks.” Julia Louis-Dreyfus, 63, mentioned she bought a pair of shoes that exceeded her “budget”.

The ‘Seinfeld’ actress was part of the sketch comedy show from 1982 to 1985 and confessed that the shoes cost $75. Sarah Silverman, 54, revealed she spent $300 on a cashmere sweater, while Sarah Sherman, 31, indulged in a “nice mattress”.

Similar to James Austin Johnson, actor Seth Meyers, 50, stated he used his initial ‘SNL’ check to purchase a “really big couch”. The late-night talk show host added that he then visited Best Buy to acquire a “really big TV” to complement his purchase.
