Is Prajakta Koli Right About the Ever-Evolving Digital Landscape?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Dec 9 (NationPress) Actor and content creator Prajakta Koli believes that the digital realm is not slowing down; rather, it has evolved into a more expansive, rapid, and unpredictable environment compared to when she started nearly a decade ago.
When asked if content creators have a shelf life in today's influencer-dominated social media landscape, Prajakta responded to IANS: “I don’t believe so. In fact, I disagree with the notion that it has diminished. It has transformed. It's fundamentally different. When we began 10–11 years ago, the focus was on long-form content. Now, attention spans are shorter, and the variety of platforms has increased.”
She highlighted the contraction of attention spans and the proliferation of platforms, which has created a unique demand. Referring to the digital boom that began in 2017, she emphasized that the ecosystem has only grown since then.
“Thanks to the digital surge in India in 2017, we have reached a stage where there is a significantly larger volume of work available. Indeed, we have more creators than we’ve ever had,” she stated.
“That’s also why India currently stands as the largest digital economy globally, attracting attention and collaboration from all over the world.”
Describing the creator journey as unpredictable, she noted that the industry lacks a clear blueprint.
“I don’t see a shelf life because, in my opinion, none of us truly have a roadmap for this. It’s incredibly unpredictable. It’s a rollercoaster. Just when you think your life is settled after a few successful videos, the next one flops. There’s no set pattern, no rhythm to this chaos. It’s something you navigate on your own.”
For her, adaptability has been crucial.
“That’s why, for me, recognizing what works, what doesn’t, and then shifting to new ideas has been vital over the past decade.”
