Preity Zinta Expresses Heartache Over LA Wildfires, States 'We Are Safe for Now'

Mumbai, Jan 12 (NationPress) Actress Preity Zinta revealed that her family is safe "as of now" during the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles and expressed her sorrow regarding the destruction occurring nearby.

In a post on X, previously known as Twitter, Preity provided an update stating: "I never imagined I would witness a day when fires would devastate neighborhoods in LA, with friends and family either evacuated or on high alert, ash falling from the smoky skies like snow, and the anxiety of what might happen if the winds do not settle, especially with toddlers and grandparents present."

"I’m heartbroken by the destruction surrounding us and thankful to God that we are safe as of now."

"My thoughts and prayers go out to those who have been displaced and have lost everything in these fires. I hope the winds calm soon and that the fires are brought under control. A heartfelt thank you to the fire department, firefighters, and all others assisting in saving lives and property. Stay safe, everyone."

On January 9, fellow Indian actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas commended the "brave" first responders for their efforts throughout the night to aid affected families following the wildfire.

Priyanka shared on her Instagram stories a post featuring the "first responders" working to combat the wildfire, which has devastated thousands of acres.

Expressing her gratitude, she wrote: "A huge shoutout to the incredibly brave first responders. Thank you for working tirelessly overnight and continuing to help families affected. @lasdhq @losangelesfiredepartment @lapdhq."

The actress had previously posted a video showing the wildfire engulfing the Los Angeles area.

On January 9, Nora Fatehi evacuated from California after the fires wreaked havoc in Los Angeles. In a video, she discussed her alarming experience.

In the video, she expressed: "Hey guys, so I'm in Los Angeles, and the wildfires are insane. I’ve never seen anything like this. We just received an evacuation order a few minutes ago. I quickly packed my belongings and am evacuating from here. I plan to go near the airport to wait there because I have a flight today, and I really hope it’s not canceled since this is terrifying. I’ve never gone through anything like this before, so I’ll keep you updated. Hopefully, I can leave in time. I really hope everyone is safe. This is unbelievable. I’ve never seen such uncontrollable fires before. Crazy. I’ll keep you all posted."

A significant wildfire erupted in Los Angeles on January 7, 2025, forcing over 30,000 residents to evacuate. Numerous videos showing the fire have circulated on social media, raising concerns among the public. Meanwhile, California Governor Gavin Newsom has declared a state of emergency in Los Angeles.
