Mumbai, Aug 16 (NationPress) Raghav Dhar, the visionary director behind the newly launched OTT series ‘Andhera’, has unraveled the intricate technical process that contributed to the show’s unique visual aesthetic.
During a promotional interview with IANS, Raghav elaborated on his journey of transforming the concept of darkness from mere script to a vivid visual experience.
He remarked, “It was incredibly challenging. The technical aspects are extensive and could fill an entire different type of discussion. Capturing darkness on screen is far more complex than it appears, and we dedicated significant effort to achieve it.”
Raghav added, “We utilized shadows and dynamic textures that are rarely seen in OTT platforms or Indian cinema because we are focused on darkness.”
When questioned about the color palette of the show, which includes cool tones like blue, teal, and green, he clarified that there is a harmonious mix of both warm and cool elements.
“The series encompasses a full spectrum of emotions. It is indeed atmospheric. Given the nature of a series, we had to move quickly, and my Director of Photography, Rohitsan Mohapatra, a talented young artist, executed his role beautifully,” he said.
‘Andhera’, set against the vibrant backdrop of Mumbai, follows the gripping tale of Inspector Kalpana Kadam and a medical student named Jay, who are drawn into a disturbing missing-person investigation that reveals a hidden menace lurking beneath the city.
The series is available for streaming on Prime Video.
