Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Aug 16 (NationPress) Raghav Dhar, the director behind the newly launched OTT series ‘Andhera’, has dissected the intricate technical methods utilized to create the series' striking visual ambiance.
In an interview with IANS during the promotional phase, Raghav elaborated on the challenge of transforming the concept of darkness from mere words into a tangible experience.
He expressed to IANS, “It was indeed a significant challenge. The technical aspects are extensive, and discussing them could span an entirely different show. The representation of darkness on screen is far more complex than it may appear, and we invested a tremendous amount of effort into it.”
He added, “We employed shadows and dynamic textures that are rarely seen in OTT platforms or Indian cinema. Our focus was on exploring the essence of darkness.”
When questioned about the series' color palette, Raghav clarified that while it does incorporate cool hues such as blue, teal, and green, it also features warm elements.
“The emotional spectrum is fully represented. It’s undeniably atmospheric. Due to the series format, we had to work swiftly. My Director of Photography, Rohitsan Mohapatra, a remarkably talented individual, executed the vision beautifully,” he remarked.
Set against the backdrop of Mumbai, ‘Andhera’ revolves around Inspector Kalpana Kadam and a medical student named Jay, who find themselves embroiled in a missing-person investigation that reveals a dark secret lurking beneath the city.
The series is now available for streaming on Prime Video.
