Mumbai, Jan 19 (NationPress) Kareena Kapoor was recently spotted at Lilavati Hospital, where she visited Saif Ali Khan alongside their sons Jeh (Jehangir) and Taimur. The actor is currently recovering after sustaining multiple stab wounds during an incident at his residence in Bandra.
In the meantime, the Mumbai Police have apprehended a suspect named Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahzad in Thane, Maharashtra. Reports suggest that he may be originally from Bangladesh.
During a press briefing, DCP of the Crime Branch Mumbai, Dikshit Gedam, stated, "There is preliminary evidence indicating that the suspect is a Bangladeshi national. He lacks valid Indian identification documents, and specific seizures suggest his nationality."
Furthermore, the DCP noted, "An FIR has been filed, and one suspect has been detained. He is 30 years old. His entry into the house was with the intent to commit robbery. We will seek custody in court."
He also disclosed, "The suspect arrived in Mumbai approximately 5 to 6 months ago. He resided in various locations before coming to Mumbai 15 days ago under the alias Vijay Das. He was formerly employed by a housekeeping agency and changed his name after entering India illegally."
Reports indicate that the suspect was captured near Hiranandani Estate in Kasarvadavali, about 35 kilometers from Saif Ali Khan's Bandra home, where the attack occurred. Initially, he claimed his name was Vijay Das, but revealed his true identity after interrogation, fearing capture.
The arrest was executed during a coordinated operation led by DCP Navnath Dhavale in cooperation with the Kasarvadavali police. The operation targeted a labor camp behind the TCS Call Center in Thane West.
