Chennai, Jan 21 (NationPress) Actress Santhi Mayadevi has officially commenced dubbing for the much-anticipated Malayalam film 'Drishyam 3', directed by Jeethu Joseph and starring the renowned Malayalam superstar Mohanlal in the lead role.

Taking to her Instagram stories, the actress, who has a significant part in this beloved franchise, shared a snapshot of herself during the dubbing process, captioning it, "Inside the world of Georgekutty. Drishyam 3!"

According to reliable sources from the production team, the dubbing is progressing swiftly. For those not in the loop, the film is slated for a worldwide release on April 2 this year.

Notably, Mohanlal completed filming his segments in December of the previous year. A celebratory video of the actor cutting a cake in front of the entire cast and crew became quite popular online.

He began this project just before receiving the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his contributions to Indian cinema.

This third installment in the acclaimed series was officially launched during a traditional puja ceremony at a law college near Kochi in September last year.

In a media briefing prior to the launch, Jeethu Joseph disclosed that 'Drishyam 3' will delve into the next phase of Georgekutty's life, a character made iconic by Mohanlal.

“The narrative takes place four-and-a-half years after the previous events. This is the essence of the plot,” Joseph elaborated.

Antony Perumbavoor, the producer and a long-time associate of Mohanlal, mentioned that the decision to proceed with this third chapter followed extensive discussions.

“The remarkable feedback from the initial two films assured us that Georgekutty's journey still has more to reveal. After in-depth discussions with Jeethu, we finalized this new narrative,” Perumbavoor stated.

The filming took place in various locations including Thodupuzha and Vagamon, with the concluding five-day schedule occurring in Ernakulam.

The Drishyam films have garnered a cult following in Indian cinema due to their compelling storytelling, complex suspense, and Mohanlal's celebrated performances.

The inaugural film, launched in 2013, set unprecedented standards in Malayalam cinema, while its sequel in 2021 achieved record viewership both in theaters and on streaming platforms.
