Mumbai, Feb 13 (NationPress) The creators of the American fantasy television series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power have officially confirmed the production of season 3 on Thursday.
The announcement included the names of three directors: two returning talents, Charlotte Brändström and Sanaa Hamri, along with a new addition, Stefan Schwartz.
This season is currently in pre-production and is set to commence filming this spring at the show’s new production facility located at Shepperton Studios in the UK.
Charlotte Brändström, who has previously served as co-executive producer and directed various episodes in seasons one and two, will reprise her role as executive producer and director for the upcoming third season. She will be joined by returning director Sanaa Hamri, who directed multiple episodes in season two, and veteran director Stefan Schwartz, who will be making his debut on the series.

The series is produced by showrunners and executive producers J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay, alongside executive producers Lindsey Weber, Justin Doble, Kate Hazell, and executive producer-director Charlotte Brändström. The production team also includes producer Matthew Penry-Davey and co-producers Ally O’Leary, Tim Keene, and Andrew Lee.
Charlotte Brändström is an acclaimed director and a graduate of the American Film Institute directing program. Her recent works include Shogun, The Continental, Scarpetta featuring Nicole Kidman and Jamie Lee Curtis for Prime Video, and a Netflix Sweden pilot titled The Unlikely Murderer.
Sanaa Hamri directed the pilot and episode 2 of the OTT series The Bondsman, starring Kevin Bacon, as well as episodes from seasons 2 and 3 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.
Stefan Schwartz has directed episodes of The Boys and My Lady Jane for Amazon MGM Studios, in addition to The Americans, The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead, Dexter, White Collar, and Spooks. His feature film directing debut was Soft Top Hard Shoulder, which starred Peter Capaldi and received two BAFTA Awards.
