What Led to the Shooting Incident Outside Rohit Shetty's House?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Feb 2 (NationPress) The shooting event outside director Rohit Shetty's residence has taken a compelling twist. The investigation conducted by the Mumbai Crime Branch has uncovered that the vehicle involved in the attack was obtained from Pune.
This vehicle was previously owned by an individual from Pune, who sold it to Aditya Gayki, one of the apprehended suspects, for Rs 30,000 just days prior.
Subsequently, Aditya Gayki and another suspect, Samarth Pomaji, abandoned the vehicle at a predetermined location in the Juhu area of Mumbai. According to the Crime Branch, those who procured the vehicle and traveled to Mumbai were unaware of the identity of the shooter; it was later revealed that Shubham Lonkar instructed the shooter to retrieve the vehicle from its drop-off point and open fire. The police indicate that in previous incidents, a similar strategy has been employed where several small groups are contracted for a crime, ensuring that no group is aware of the others.
For those unfamiliar, five rounds were fired at filmmaker Rohit Shetty's Juhu residence on Sunday morning. Exclusive footage captured by IANS shows three bullet holes on the building. Rohit Shetty's home features two gates, and more than 10 CCTV cameras are installed throughout the tower. In the course of the investigation, four to five teams from the Crime Branch are meticulously reviewing over 100 CCTV recordings from the vicinity in an effort to identify the perpetrators. The police are analyzing footage from the CCTV cameras positioned outside Shetty Tower and surrounding buildings to trace the escape route of the assailants.
The incident transpired between approximately 12:30 AM and 1:00 AM on the night of Saturday to Sunday. Following the shooting, the suspects successfully fled the scene. Upon receiving the report of the incident, senior officials from the Mumbai Police and teams from the Mumbai Crime Branch promptly arrived at the location.
