Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Chennai, March 17 (NationPress) The highly anticipated next schedule for director Vetrimaran's action-packed film 'Arasan', starring actor Silambarasan, popularly known as Simbu, has officially commenced in Chennai.
Simbu has rejoined the film crew, actively participating in the shooting of this much-anticipated action drama. A snapshot of him on the film's set has started circulating widely on social media.
Insiders reveal that actors Vikranth and young talent Kamalesh, who recently garnered acclaim for his role in the hit 'Tourist Family', have been cast in the film and will also be seen filming in this upcoming schedule.
There are indications that this filming schedule will be extensive, with numerous scenes featuring actor Vijay Sethupathi set to be shot during this period.
Earlier this year, renowned producer Kalaipuli S Thanu, of V Creations, confirmed that Simbu, who recently returned to India from a short trip abroad, was set to begin the next filming segment in March.
Thanu also affirmed that Vijay Sethupathi is indeed part of the project, dismissing rumors of his absence as unfounded. He reiterated that scenes involving both Vijay Sethupathi and Simbu would be filmed in this schedule.
The film's first schedule wrapped up in Kovilpatti on December 21 last year, followed by a second schedule that concluded shortly after commencing in January. Now, the production team has kicked off the third schedule in Chennai.
Excitement surrounding the film has escalated for various reasons. Primarily, it marks the first collaboration between Simbu and acclaimed director Vetrimaran. Furthermore, the film is backed by one of Tamil cinema's leading producers, Kalaipuli S Thanu. The recent announcement of Vijay Sethupathi's involvement has only heightened the anticipation.
A teaser for the film, released last year, opens on a humorous note, featuring director Nelson in a cameo.
In the teaser, Simbu informs Nelson that the story he is about to share is entirely true. He emphasizes that the characters, incidents, and locations are real. However, he urges Nelson to include a disclaimer in the film, stating, "What I’m sharing involves ongoing legal cases that could implicate many, including innocent individuals, lawyers, politicians, police officers, and even judges."
As Simbu conveys this, the 'Arasan' team simultaneously issues a disclaimer.
He reassures Nelson, "With a disclaimer, even if the events portrayed in the film are accurate, no one can challenge you." He further adds that his own case is about to be heard, and he will return to elaborate.
Entering the courtroom, he is guided by his lawyer. Once on the stand, the judge informs him that he faces charges of committing three murders in a single night, to which Simbu asserts his innocence. However, subsequent scenes reveal that he is indeed the perpetrator of the murders...
The teaser suggests that this narrative will delve into an untold story from the realm of 'Vada Chennai'. It was only recently that the title 'Arasan' was announced by the filmmakers.
Vetrimaran's collaboration with Simbu will also showcase talents such as Samuthirakani, Andrea Jeremiah, and Kishore in significant roles. The film's music is being composed by Anirudh.
