Key Takeaways
Chennai, Dec 15 (NationPress) Acclaimed music director G V Prakash, who has won the National Award twice, has revealed that the talented actor Sivakarthikeyan has lent his voice to a revolutionary song in the much-anticipated film 'Parasakthi', directed by Sudha Kongara.
In a post on his social media, G V Prakash shared, "#SK sings for #parasakthi the rebel song #tharakkutharakku @Siva_Kartikeyan @Sudha_Kongara @DawnPicturesOff" along with a picture featuring himself, the director, and the actor.
Notably, the announcement regarding Sivakarthikeyan's performance of 'Tharakku Tharakku', a song of rebellion, follows closely the release of the film's third single, 'Nammakaana Kaalam'.
'Nammakaana Kaalam', a celebratory track, features vocals by Haricharan, Nakash Aziz, and Velmurugan, with lyrics penned by Arivu.
Interestingly, the song includes phrases advocating for the defense of one's language, prompting speculation that the film's plot will address the linguistic tensions that emerged in the state during the 1960s and 1970s.
It's worth noting that Sivakarthikeyan began dubbing for the film in the last week of November.
Dawn Pictures released a video showing the actor dubbing under the guidance of director Sudha Kongara, stating, "When his voice turns into a storm. @sivakarthikeyan begins dubbing for #Parasakthi - Hitting theatres on January 14th."
Both actress Sreeleela, who portrays the female lead, and actor Ravi Mohan, who takes on the role of the antagonist, have also completed their dubbing. Remarkably, Sreeleela has provided her own voice for this film.
The production team officially announced on October 21 of this year that they had completed filming. The Pollachi schedule was concluded in August.
Sources indicate that significant scenes were captured during this schedule, which commenced on July 18, although Sivakarthikeyan joined the crew a bit later.
Previously, the first schedule of 'Parasakthi' took place in Madurai, while the second was filmed in Sri Lanka. The third schedule was conducted in Pollachi, Tamil Nadu.
The film 'Parasakthi' has generated considerable excitement among fans and cinema enthusiasts. This period drama, which also includes Atharvaa, appears to be set in the 1960s in the former state of Madras.
A teaser released by the production team suggests that the narrative unfolds at Pachaiyappa’s college in Madras, where Sivakarthikeyan is depicted going from door to door, seeking something. He comes across as a brave leader, poised to rally students in a violent protest against an oppressive system that has enforced rules like 'Students - do not touch'. Interestingly, the teaser reveals this order being altered to 'Do not touch students'.
The teaser implies that Ravi Mohan's character harbors intentions to kill Sivakarthikeyan's character.
'Parasakthi', previously referred to as #SK25 since it marks Sivakarthikeyan's 25th film, features music by G V Prakash and cinematography by the seasoned Ravi K Chandran. The action sequences are crafted by Supreme Sundar. The film is set to debut in theatres on January 14 next year, coinciding with the Pongal festival.
