Sivakarthikeyan called Venkat Prabhu family and reaffirmed his admiration for the director, putting a public and cordial end to a controversy that had been simmering since remarks made by Venkat Prabhu's father.

Quoting Venkat Prabhu's post, Sivakarthikeyan wrote: 'Sir, we are family. Idhuku poi neenga serious-ah reply pannitu irukeenga! Thank you so much for your wishes, sir, and my best wishes for your next project. Sir, I've told you this before, and I'm saying it again — I'll always be a VP fan. Waiting to collaborate with you soon, sir.' The message struck a tone of affection and mutual respect, effectively closing the chapter on any public perception of a falling-out between the two.

The Post That Started the Conversation

Venkat Prabhu's post was itself a clarification, prompted by comments made by his father, veteran composer Gangai Amaran, in a recent interview. In his post, Venkat Prabhu wrote: 'SK (Sivakarthikeyan) is always a dear friend/brother to me. A lot of speculations and controversies are going around. As a father, when a film involving your own son gets delayed, the frustration is natural. He (Gangai Amaran) probably doesn't know the complete picture, and I can't blame him for that.'

The director further explained: 'I'm a very quiet person when it comes to my work and don't discuss my professional matters in detail with anyone, including him. The project couldn't take off due to various reasons. That's it. No hard feelings. If the time comes and a good script comes my way, I would love to work with SK again.' He ended the post with, 'So please, let's put a full stop to all this,' and extended best wishes for Sivakarthikeyan's upcoming film Seyon.

Seyon Update: Second Schedule Wrapped

Meanwhile, Seyon — directed by Sivakumar Murugesan and featuring Sivakarthikeyan in the lead — has been progressing steadily. The film's second schedule of shooting was recently completed. On 11 September, production house Raaj Kamal Films International, owned by actor Kamal Haasan, confirmed the milestone via a social media post, writing: '#VetrivelVeeravel #Varendi #KamalHaasan #Sivakarthikeyan.'

The first schedule had wrapped on 10 June, and the film officially went on floors in Madurai with a grand pooja ceremony on 18 May, graced by Kamal Haasan and several other celebrities. Notably, Sivakarthikeyan had taken a brief personal break in Ooty before the intensive second schedule began in Madurai, sharing pictures on Instagram with the caption: 'A pause. A breeze. A little peace.'

About the Film

Produced jointly by Raaj Kamal Films International and Turmeric Media, Seyon stars actress Baghyashrii Borse as the female lead — marking her first direct Tamil-language film. The project adds to Sivakarthikeyan's growing slate as one of Tamil cinema's most bankable stars.
