Actor Sooraj Pancholi on 15 September 2026 publicly broke his silence over his name being linked to the renewed investigation into the death of late celebrity manager Disha Salian, categorically stating he had never met her and demanding that facts be verified before accusations are made. Pancholi posted a detailed statement on his social media account, calling the repeated dragging of his name into the controversy 'very unfair and extremely upsetting.'

What Pancholi Said

'I have decided to put this out because I feel it is important to put certain facts clearly in the public domain,' he wrote. 'For the last few years, my name has been dragged into the controversy surrounding the unfortunate demise of Late Disha Salian through various media reports and statements.'

He went further, stating unequivocally: 'I have never met Late Disha Salian in my life, directly or indirectly. I have also never met Aditya Thackeray in my life.' Pancholi added that there was 'no evidence or proof' connecting him to the matter.

Prior Investigation and Willingness to Cooperate

Pancholi revealed that he had already been questioned by investigative agencies in connection with the case. 'Regarding this matter, I have already been investigated by the CBI/police and my statement was recorded by the agencies almost 4-5 years ago,' he wrote. He said he was 'completely willing to cooperate' if agencies needed to question him again, adding: 'I HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE.'

His willingness to engage with investigators contrasts with the years of public silence he said he had maintained to avoid amplifying every report written about him.

Call for Counter-Investigation into 'Malicious Propaganda'

Beyond defending himself, Pancholi called for a parallel inquiry into what he described as the spread of false narratives around the incident. 'I also believe that there should be an investigation into the malicious propaganda and false narratives being created around this unfortunate incident, because someone's death should never become a reason to destroy another person's reputation without evidence,' he wrote.

He urged the public not to treat media coverage or social media posts as evidence. 'A headline is not evidence. A debate is not evidence. Someone saying something on television does not make it a fact,' he wrote, appealing for people to 'verify things before forming an opinion.'

Background: The Disha Salian Case

Disha Salian, who had worked as actor Sushant Singh Rajput's manager, died in June 2020, shortly before Rajput's own death that same month. The case has resurfaced following a petition filed by her father, Satish Salian, and a Bombay High Court order dated 2 September directing the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to investigate all aspects surrounding the circumstances of her death.

Others whose names have been discussed in connection with the Salian controversy include Aaditya Thackeray, Dino Morea, and Rhea Chakraborty, among others. None have been charged, and the investigation is ongoing.
