Chennai, Aug 19 (NationPress) Actress Sridevi Vijayakumar, who is gearing up for her return to the silver screen in director Venkatesh Nimmalapudi's forthcoming Telugu film 'Sundarakanda' starring Nara Rohit, recently shared that her bond with Prabhas, her co-star from her debut film, remains unchanged even after he has risen to become a major pan-Indian celebrity.
For those who may not know, Sridevi Vijayakumar was the leading lady in Prabhas' inaugural film titled 'Eeswar', directed by Jayanth C Paranjee. Although she began her acting career as a child artist, Eeswar was her first role as a lead actress.
During a press event for 'Sundarakanda', when asked about her friendship with Prabhas, she stated, "The friendship with Prabhas is still the same. Prabhas is now a big star. However, he hasn't changed one bit."
Sridevi remarked that Prabhas still possesses the same childlike innocence, smiling and conversing just as he did during their time on the set of Eeswar. She mentioned that everyone involved in the film sensed that Prabhas was destined for greatness.
"We all believed he would achieve stardom even back then. During our success tour, the crowds were enormous. Prabhas has surpassed our expectations, and it's a true blessing to witness his journey."
Regarding her return to cinema with 'Sundarakanda', where she shares the screen with Vriti Vaghani, Sridevi expressed, "I am thrilled to make my comeback. Any actor seeks to portray a substantial role. I am portraying a character with great significance in this film. As a viewer, I found this movie incredibly engaging. The output is remarkable, with refreshing content that everyone can enjoy in theaters."
The film, produced by Santosh Chinnapolla, Gautham Reddy, and Rakesh Mahankali under the banner of Sandeep Picture Palace (SPP), is set to release on August 27.
