Mumbai, Dec 13 (NationPress) Renowned filmmaker SS Rajamouli has expressed his admiration for Ashish Chanchlani's newly launched series "Ekaki", describing it as 'promising'. Rajamouli highlighted that he appreciated the genre transition in "Ekaki" from horror to sci-fi.
The creator of 'RRR' reminisced about his encounter with Chanchlani during the "Varanasi" event in Hyderabad, stating, "I met Ashish at the Varanasi event, and now I am thrilled to see him with his own fully penned, produced, and self-created series. #Ekaki seems promising… Particularly the genre shift from horror to sci-fi. A smart twist. Best of luck @ashchanchlani!! (sic)"
In response to the accolades from the 'Baahubali' director, Chanchlani considered Rajamouli's feedback on the series as his 'greatest achievement'.
"Rajamouli sir, I appreciate your guidance and kind remarks. Hearing this from you is genuinely a dream come true for someone like me. Your reaction to it is my most significant accomplishment. Love you, sir," he expressed.
Previously, Chanchlani, who has taken on various roles in "Ekaki" as writer, director, producer, and actor, reflected on the demanding yet fulfilling experience of creating the series.
“This experience was entirely distinct from anything I’ve undertaken before. At the outset, we genuinely lacked knowledge; I was unaware of what I was getting into. It turned out to be a challenging, rigorous journey that spanned about seven months of pre-production, 80 days of filming, and another seven months of post-production,” he shared about his experience.
Chanchlani continued, “However, I truly cherished every aspect of it. I am uncertain if I would embark on a similar venture again, but I feel validated after investing so much effort. I sincerely hope the audience enjoys watching it as much as we relished in creating it.”
"Ekaki" revolves around a group of friends who embark on a fun weekend retreat to the enigmatic Ekaki Villa. However, their enjoyable escape soon takes a turn for the eerie as they encounter strange hauntings.
