Mumbai, Feb 18 (NationPress) Renowned lyricist and singer Swanand Kirkire has expressed his concerns regarding the decreasing shelf life of songs in today's music industry. His latest project, the series “Bandwaale”, is currently available for streaming on Prime Video. This series, co-created with Ankur Tewari, marks a pivotal new phase in his journey as a storyteller.
Kirkire has received the National Film Award for Best Lyrics twice: first in 2006 for the song “Bande Me Tha Dum...Vande Mataram” from the film Lage Raho Munna Bhai, and then in 2009 for “Behti Hawa Sa Tha Woh” from 3 Idiots.
In 2018, he won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for the Marathi film Chumbak. Additionally, he made cameo appearances in Panchayat 3 and Qala, where he also contributed as a lyricist and vocalist.
