Chennai, Sep 3 (NationPress) Actor Teja Sajja, who has become a recognized pan-Indian star following the success of his hit film Hanu-Man, has revealed to IANS that he sustained a ligament injury in his wrist while executing the rapid and high-intensity action sequences in his upcoming film Mirai.
It is noteworthy that the production team of director Karthik Gattamaneni's much-anticipated pan-Indian film, Mirai, recently unveiled the first segment of a Behind The Scenes video that highlighted the immense effort Teja Sajja exerted to portray a Super Yodha in the movie.
The video depicted the numerous attempts the actor made to successfully capture the complex stunt shots. It also offered viewers insight into the intricacy of the stunts featured in the film. For those unfamiliar, Teja Sajja is seen flawlessly performing a variety of stunts—from expertly twirling a staff to executing challenging somersaults.
In his conversation with IANS, Teja Sajja stated, "The stunts we have undertaken are fast-paced and action-oriented. We enlisted the help of Ketcha master and Nang master from Thailand. I even traveled to Thailand to train for nearly 20 days for my role."
The actor further mentioned that every stunt visible on screen was performed by him personally, with no use of body doubles.
It's clear that anyone performing such stunts could sustain injuries. When this was brought to Teja Sajja's attention, he smiled modestly.
"I suffered a ligament injury in my wrist during the filming of Mirai," he disclosed somewhat hesitantly. "The staff I wield and spin during the action sequences weighs six kilograms. Consequently, while performing, I ended up injuring the ligament in my wrist," he explained.
"Additionally, all the stunts you see are live stunts that I executed myself. There were numerous rope shots involved. I also sustained a painful injury in the C4-C5 region of my spine while filming Hanu-Man. Whenever I had to use a rope for a stunt, I would invariably feel pain. However, that is inconsequential as the stunts turned out well."
Mirai, being produced on an epic scale, is backed by the prominent production house People Media Factory, with Karthik Gattamaneni directing.
Funded by TG Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad, Mirai is anticipated to be a groundbreaking addition to the superhero genre.
For those unaware, Manoj Manchu will portray the formidable antagonist in this film, which also stars Shriya Saran, Jayaram, and Jagapathi Babu in significant roles.
Director Karthik Gattamaneni not only directs Mirai but also serves as its cinematographer. The screenplay has been penned by Karthik himself, with Manibabu Karanam contributing to both the writing and dialogues. The world of Mirai has been vividly brought to life through the creative vision of Sri Nagendra Tangala, who leads the art department, while Sujith Kumar Kolli acts as the film's Executive Producer.
Set for a global release on September 12, Mirai will be available in eight languages and will be screened in both 2D and 3D formats.
