Mumbai, May 12 (NationPress) Actor Worship Khanna, known for his roles in popular shows like "Kumkum Bhagya", "Meri Doli Mere Angana", and "Ishq Subhan Allah", is set to star in the new TV series "Pati Brahmachari".
As part of his preparation for this role, Khanna shed some extra weight.
He stated, “I lost four kilos for the role. That’s quite a bit, but let’s keep it at that and move on. It just came up in conversation that it took me nine months to land this role, and I thought maybe it's not a coincidence. Worship Khanna gave birth to Birju, and now, exactly nine months later, Worship Khanna is giving birth to Puran.”
“Both roles, from both shows, are produced by Shashi Sumeet Productions. I reprise my role as Puran in this new show from the same production house,” the actor, referred to as 'Khan Number One', shared.
He described his character as a cheerful individual with whom he strongly identifies.
Khanna elaborated, “My character’s name is Puran. I portray the hero’s brother. He’s a very cheerful, slice-of-life character. He appreciates the little things in life, comes from a lower middle-class background, lacks financial wealth, but embraces life joyfully. He believes in love and humanity. He’s charming, optimistic, and brings a comic touch to the show.”
“I’m confident that the audience will enjoy this character, and I hope he inspires them because life should be cherished in that way. Challenges are always present, and finances are often tight, but one should never lose their smile,” he added.
Khanna also mentioned that he finds a lot of similarities between himself and his character, stating, “Just like my character, I derive happiness from the simplest things. I adore roadside tea and relish pani puri. I'm not a club enthusiast. I prefer the company of friends, sharing conversations over food or drinks in a comforting environment. That family vibe—that's me.”
“Even when dining out or on a date, I shy away from crowded venues. A quiet little restaurant or a dhaba where it’s serene is ideal. I enjoy engaging in conversations, connecting, and savoring the moment. So yes, the little things bring me immense joy. I truly relate to this role,” Khanna concluded.
