New Delhi, Jan 2 (NationPress) The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has issued a warning to Indian travelers heading to Saudi Arabia, informing them that the Gulf nation has launched a digital platform for obtaining prior authorization to clear medicines meant for personal use.
According to the NCB's announcement, the General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC), India Country Office, Saudi Arabia, has officially notified the NCB regarding the initiation of this electronic service.
The platform, available at https://cds.sfda.gov.sa, has been designed for the submission of applications and necessary details to secure permission for the clearance of personal-use medications.
The advisory emphasized that certain medications that are legally sold in India or other countries may be restricted or completely banned in Saudi Arabia.
It was also highlighted that carrying quantities of these medications that exceed the allowed limits could result in regulatory penalties.
The NCB's advisory states that applications for clearance must be submitted by the travelers themselves or their authorized representatives through the digital platform.
Travelers are encouraged to review the official list of restricted and prohibited medications provided by Saudi authorities prior to their journey, as per the NCB's statement.
The NCB affirmed that it will keep sharing important advisories from international counterparts to promote public awareness and adherence to global narcotics control regulations.
