Is PM Modi's Promise Being Realized? BJP Leaders Celebrate Launch of Ayushman Vay Vandana Card in Delhi

New Delhi, April 28 (NationPress) The Delhi government officially unveiled its ambitious health insurance initiative on Monday by distributing Ayushman health cards to senior citizens aged 70 and above, granting them access to complimentary medical treatment of up to Rs 10 lakh. The ‘Ayushman Vay Vandana Scheme’, aimed at six lakh beneficiaries in phases, stems from a commitment made by the ruling BJP prior to the Assembly elections that ended their 27-year absence from Delhi politics.

During the launch event at Thyagaraj Stadium, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta introduced the Ayushman Vay Vandana Card for senior citizens under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY). BJP MP Manoj Tiwari and other prominent leaders emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's promise was being fulfilled.

This significant occasion marks an important advancement in delivering free healthcare services to Delhi’s elderly population.

The scheme ensures that senior citizens are entitled to free medical treatment totaling Rs 10 lakh annually, which consists of Rs 5 lakh from the central Ayushman Bharat PMJAY and an additional Rs 5 lakh as supplementary health insurance from the Delhi government.

The event was attended by leading BJP figures and ministers, including Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Delhi Health Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar, and several other notable party members.

Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra stated, “These initiatives could have been rolled out earlier, but the previous administration obstructed all central health initiatives. Today, every commitment is being honored. This was Prime Minister Modi's promise, and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has made it a reality.”

Bidhuri, who chaired the BJP’s Delhi manifesto committee, affirmed, “In our party’s manifesto, we pledged that our first Cabinet decision would be to implement Ayushman Bharat in Delhi. That commitment has been fulfilled.”

Minister Ashish Sood praised the leadership, stating, “Under Prime Minister Modi's guidance, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has achieved the promises made.”

Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh expressed gratitude for the realization of this initiative, saying, “I am sincerely appreciative that this is occurring through my efforts. The Prime Minister’s vision is now being translated into action.”

BJP MLA Satish Upadhyay announced, "Starting today, all senior citizens aged 70 and above will receive the Vay Vandana scheme card. Under the Prime Minister's Jan Arogya Yojana, everyone will have access to cashless treatment in hospitals."

The Ayushman Vay Vandana Card will enable seniors to benefit from cashless treatment at an extensive network of empaneled hospitals.

The distribution of the cards commenced on Monday, with government officials indicating that all eligible residents aged 70 and above will be progressively included in the scheme.
