New Delhi, April 26 (NationPress) Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, announced on Saturday that the Ayushman Vay Vandana scheme is emerging as a significant achievement, with millions of senior citizens nationwide already reaping its benefits.

The ‘Ayushman Vay Vandana Scheme’ is set to be rolled out in phases for six lakh beneficiaries and will be officially launched on April 28 by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Union Minister Puri during a ceremony at Thyagaraj Stadium.

The registration process for senior citizens aged 70 and above to obtain Ayushman Health cards in Delhi commenced on Saturday, ahead of the launch of this Rs 5 lakh health insurance initiative.

“Wishing you all the best for your health even after reaching 70. A new health initiative from the BJP government,” said Hardeep Puri in a post on X.

“When old age brings illness, the disparity between the rich and the poor becomes clear. PM Modi has bridged this gap. Regardless of their economic status, every elderly person over 70 will receive complimentary treatment at quality hospitals,” Minister Puri underscored.

He further pointed out that the residents of Delhi were previously denied these benefits due to the animosity of the former Arvind Kejriwal government, which failed to implement the scheme in the capital.

“Now, under Rekha Gupta’s administration in Delhi, all citizens will also gain access to the Centre's welfare initiatives. The launch of this card in Delhi is set for April 28,” the minister stated.

“Elderly individuals in Delhi will soon possess Ayushman Vay Vandana cards, which will help reduce family expenses and alleviate their concerns,” he added.

Senior citizens can apply for the Ayushman Vay Vandana card by visiting the nearest empanelled hospital, downloading the Ayushman app from Google Play, or accessing the beneficiary portal.

Senior citizens aged 70 and above, including those already enrolled in ABPM-JAY, qualify for additional coverage of up to Rs 5 lakh annually in Delhi.
