Administering the vaccine during adolescence greatly diminishes the risk of developing this disease.”
She added, “Thanks to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a comprehensive nationwide HPV vaccination initiative has been launched, for which I express my sincere gratitude. We are also rolling out this campaign in Delhi, aiming to vaccinate 1.6 lakh girls within three months. We will guarantee that no child is overlooked.”
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari remarked, “It is an immense privilege that the current Delhi government is making substantial efforts to bolster healthcare services in our city. Our Health Minister, Dr Pankaj Kumar Singh, is here today. The Chief Minister has inaugurated five vital healthcare projects.”
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a nationwide HPV vaccination campaign aimed at girls aged 14 and older from Ajmer, which represents a crucial advancement in India's battle against cervical cancer.
During the occasion, multiple schoolgirls received vaccinations in the presence of the Prime Minister, who subsequently engaged with them. This initiative aspires to eliminate cervical cancer among women throughout India.
By enhancing access to the HPV vaccine, the program is anticipated to safeguard millions of girls from potentially life-threatening cancers in the future.
Upon arriving at Kishangarh Airport, the Prime Minister was welcomed by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the Governor, and other senior officials.
From the airport, he traveled via Army helicopter to the Ghughra helipad and then proceeded by road to the public meeting location. The health of women was the central theme of the Prime Minister's visit.
The HPV vaccination initiative has been framed as a collective nationwide effort to eradicate cervical cancer, a leading cause of cancer-related fatalities among women in India.
